Join Mazda Toyota Manufacturing, USA! The Cost Management and Accounting Manager will be responsible for ensuring timeliness and accuracy of financial reporting and data at this cutting edge automotive manufacturing start up.

What You Do

Initially will lead the establishment and ramp-up of Cost Management and Accounting at a large, high-volume, cutting-edge automotive manufacturing operation.

As a part of the above, and on an ongoing basis will also:
  • Establish strong team member relations, at all levels and provide support for people development, coaching and mentoring with a focus on teamwork and inclusion
  • Work closely with Japanese team members from Mazda and Toyota
  • Proactively engage and support company level strategic decision making from financial viewpoint
  • Establish strong team member relations, at all levels and provide support for people development, coaching and mentoring with a focus on teamwork and inclusion
  • Develop strong working relationships with members of Toyota Motor North America A&F that will be providing certain shared services and other support.
  • Work closely with Japanese team members from Mazda and Toyota
  • Lead team in achievement of action plans surrounding budgeting, month-end close, internal and external reporting and key targets
  • Manage cross-functional and cross-company projects focusing on cost improvement activities and attainment of unit cost and functional targets
  • Lead, supervise and have responsibility for cost management area which include cost accounting, cost planning and shop management reporting
  • Identify and develop contingency plans around missed targets and internal control gap mitigation
  • Develop budgets, cash flow planning, forecasts, unit and functional cost targets and improvement plans in coordination with other Mazda Toyota Manufacturing, USA areas and corporate
  • Manage processes that include monthly cost accounting, cost management, analytics and financial reporting, accounts payable/accounts receivable, company insurance programs
  • Manage the Plan-Do-Check-Action (PDCA) cycle regarding budget and improvement containment
  • Work with all levels within Mazda Toyota Manufacturing, USA and Toyota / Mazda parent companies and related companies such as Mazda North American Operations and Toyota Motor North America
  • Be available to work OT and travel as needed (domestically and internationally)

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting
  • 5-10+ years’ experience in managing an accounting department, preferably in a manufacturing environment
  • 8-10+ years’ experience in budgeting, forecasting, cost accounting and financial reporting
  • Experience and knowledge of accounting regulations
  • Supervisory experience
