Description
Skilled Trades Apprentice – Industrial Electrician - Jamestown, NY.
- As part of a formal skilled trades training program, assists site Electrician skilled trades to learn and develop electrical skills in a manufacturing environment under direct guidance.
- Apprentice will be required to successfully complete and document specified classes and a minimum quantity of on the job training hours. Learns and understands the protocols of working safely with electricity and other energy sources with industrial equipment.

- Support equipment uptime and downtime failure analysis.
- Performs supervised work in accordance with diagrams, sketches, operation manuals and specifications using various tools, measuring and testing instruments.
- Provide feedback into the Preventive Maintenance system.
- Follows all process documentation and quality procedures.
- Raises issues to minimize cost and quality exposures.
- Performs quality inspections.
- Delivery
- Attends required classes to build basic electrical skills and knowledge to qualify as an Electrician.
- Completes all required on the job training hours.
- Repairs and maintains manufacturing equipment and other miscellaneous duties within their capabilities .
- Assists with preventive, emergency, corrective and predictive maintenance activities.
- Maintains clean and orderly work area, including routine housekeeping and machine cleaning tasks.
- Identify and reduce manufacturing constraints

Skills
- Minimal or no work experience required.The JEP Skilled Trades Apprenticeship Program consists of 8000 hours of on-the-job training.
- Allen Bradley PLC programming and troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of Fanuc Robotics (Basic Knowledge – robot handling / programming).
- Equipment uptime and downtime failure analysis.
- Diagrams, sketches, operation manuals and specifications using various tools, measuring, and testing instruments.
- Preventive Maintenance systems.
- Quality inspections.
- Proficient performing troubleshooting, electrical repairs, and maintenance of equipment
- Codes and standards to maintain, install, and operate electrical systems.
Education, Licenses, Certifications
- Candidates must hold a 2-year tech degree / Majors such as Mechatronics, Electrical Constructions and Maintenance, Automation Engineering Technology and Electrical Engineering Technology will be considered.
- Individuals completing the program will be eligible for an NYS Journey worker Card.
This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
